Pain-free root canals (Endodontics) for the people of Neutral Bay
This is now a straight-forward and pain-free procedure thanks to advancements in dental technology. This treatment can save your tooth from further damage, and avoid extraction which is more costly and invasive.
What is a root canal?
A root canal is needed when the tissue inside your tooth has become infected. This can happen when decay penetrates deeply enough, or the tooth has become cracked or damaged.
During the procedure, the nerves and infected tissue inside the tooth are removed. The tooth is then cleaned and sealed with a crown. This needs to be applied to close the hole created to access the tooth interior, and also to restore strength and appearance.
Will it hurt?
We will make you comfortable and administer enough anaesthetic that you should feel no pain. This procedure will be very similar to getting a regular filling. A little tenderness may be felt following a root canal by some people, or nothing at all.
