What can I expect from my appointment?

Your mouth, teeth, gums and other surrounding tissue will be assessed, by our highly experienced Dentists, with the use of photographs and x-rays if necessary. If any problems are found the dentist will discuss these with you and provide treatment options. Then our Dental Hygienist will provide a thorough clean. Your teeth will be scaled and polished, removing any tartar from above and below your gum line. Any infection that may have developed will be removed, and decay preventing agents may be applied. Your appointment could also involve having an x-ray if needed, and your gum health and supporting bone will be evaluated.

How often do I need to have my teeth cleaned?

This depends on how carefully you take care of your teeth. Brushing and flossing, avoiding sugary foods and drinks, not smoking – these practices will all contribute to a cleaner mouth, so it may not be as important. We understand it can be difficult to stick to a regime like this every single day, so we recommend coming in for a clean at least once every six months.
