Sinus lifts (sinus augmentation)
A sinus lift may be required as part of a procedure to add bone to your upper jaw in order to enable the placement of a dental implant. To allow space for the added bone the sinus membrane must be moved upward, and the graft is placed between your jaw and the maxillary sinuses on either side of your nose.
A sinus lift may be required when the sinuses are too close or there is not enough height in the bone of the upper jaw to place the required implants.
